MDM.cat 🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

The MDM.cat is a mountain race that has been held since November 2015 organized by the association GAS MOUNTAIN ®. Its aim is to bring together the best half marathon mountain runners in competition, although it is not intended to be an exclusively elitist event, and is open to all types of participants.

It passes through the Protected Natural Area of Alta Garrotxa, one of the most important natural spaces of the Eastern Pre-Pyrenees of the Levant. Of great scenic, faunal and cultural richness, it has all the necessary services and you can practice multiple activities, from sports to cultural.

It consists of three routes, one of 12 kilometers and one of 21 kilometers with start and end in Beuda, and this 2020 we also recover the Vertical of 4 kilometers thanks to the OTR system.

The 21 kilometer circuit is included in the Itinerànnia Trail Network of the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area, and marked in 2018 as an itinerary of the trail network designed for runners. The Alta Garrotxa Consortium has financed the signposting of the MDM.cat race route, placing plaques with the route profile, location indicators, information panels and vertical signage. The entire route is marked with yellow paint signs and does not include cross-country stretches.

WHAT IS?

Open Trail Races is an APP for smartphones whose main functionality is the competition of sports racing on circuits installed in the natural environment.

A series of "check point" devices with Bluetooth Low Energy technology have been installed in each MDM.cat circuit, which detect their passage on the participant's mobile phone. This will start the timer at the starting point and stop at the finish line.

Once the race is over, and if you have passed all the checkpoints, the participant will be ranked in the race ranking based on their age and gender.

HOW IT WORKS?

1. The first step is to register
2. Turn on Bluetooth
3. Move to the starting point
4. Get it started and RUN !!
 
Choose one of our vertical races, 12k or 21k, go to the starting point and start running the moment you hear Go!
You will be able to compare yourself with other runners on the way through each "check point".
(IMPORTANT turn on Bluetooth permanently, some devices turn it off after a while, in case of incident, contact us.)
