The shrine is located on the sheer summit dominating Bressols and was originally dedicated to Our Lady, with later devotion to Sant Joan. The Gothic statue of 'La Mare de Déu de la Palmoa' comes from here which was later taken to Lliurona. The priest and hermit abandoned the place around 1910-1915 due to lightning. In 1413, the chapel was registered as 'recently constructed'. The building, however, follows the Romanesque style: a single nave with a pointed vault and a semicircular apse. There are remains of schematic murals, also probably dating to the 14th-15th centuries.
