Fadrí Cork Tree

The Fadrí cork tree is very old, probably about 500 years. It has a trunk with a perimeter of 4.60 m and a height of 12 m. The name of the tree comes from the desire of the owners for it to never be removed, and fulfilling this wish, its cork has never been used (virgin cork); while those around it are peeled periodically in the summer. Agullana was the first town in the region to make cork bottle tops. Throughout time, fortunes were amassed that reflect today, among other things, in the current Modernist style architectural heritage.
